Facility Maintenance-Alan
Moody Plumbing asked to meet with Alan regarding the irrigation of the canal access being
extremely low by the park. Alan later reported that they told him that the intake pipes for
two of our pumps has no flotation devices on them to keep them from the bottom of the canals.
As a result they are sucking in some mud along with the water. He needs to pull those pipes
out of the water to see what kind of condition they are in, if they need to be replaced or not,
and then add a flotation device. This should keep the sprinkler heads from clogging up and give
us more water pressure, which we need.
The exterminator came out and exterminated the ant piles at Stirling entrance and will continue
to do so. Fertilizer and insecticide will be more regularly done.
Discussed why the sidewalks needed to be cleaned. Discussed the light fixtures, the palm
frongs falling down and how they need to be picked up after falling and disposed of. Discussed
streets need to be repaved by the city.

New Business
Town of Davie Councilman Vice Mayor Marlon Luis attended the meeting. He mentioned
that new playground equipment was being purchased for our park. He said that 200,000
streets need to be repaved. Public Works department said we are in the top ten needing
repavement and when the money is there it will get done. He said there is a wish list and
there is $750-$900 billion dollars out there that will go to the municipalities for their infra
structure. So they may be coming into some money and want to know what the different
cities need or want. We discussed different things and agreed that we all want the wall the
most. Hopefully it won't just be wishful thinking on our parts and someday we will see it
happen. He said that if they build that extra lane in the middle of 75 that they are talking
about building, the wall could actually happen then. It is still at least 5 years off though. We
talked at length how our park is a disaster and really could use some sprucing up. Different
ideas were discussed for it as well as the grassy area under the FP&L lines on Sedgewyck
and Ashby Field Rds. such as dog park area, golf putting area, a place to park boats and
trailers and the like. These were just some of the ideas. We discussed the area past the park
where there is a trailer that pays a low sum of rent and grows coffee there, whether it was
feasible to ask if some of the area could be leased out for parking the larger vehicles. Also
talked about that area for the ATV's to drive around. Renee Grutman, the Administrative Aide
to Commissioner Lois Wexler of District 5 of Broward County also came to the meeting to
remind everyone that Judy Paul was running for Mayor.
Meeting adjourned at 8:27 pm by Frank Milone, Val O'Connor seconded the motion.
