We need everyone's
email addresses for correspondence, for
newsletters, for many things, which will help
cut costs to email instead of using the postal
mail. Please put the word out to your neighbors.
First of all, on behalf of
the board, we would like to thank everyone who
attended the August 28th 2013
Homeowner’s Association meeting. The meeting
turned out to be a very productive meeting. Many
things were discussed that have been a “thorn in
our side” for a long time.
We are dedicating ourselves to
cleaning up our community! At the meeting’s open
forum, many very important issues came up,
such as security, excessive
landscaping causing cozy homes for rodents to
check in, homes being leased to people that do
not maintain their properties, and people
parking on our sidewalks where our kids should
be riding their bikes! Enough is enough,
things are going to change!
Security companies have already been contacted
to get pricing for a camera surveillance system
at the entrances at Dykes Road and at Stirling
Road. The Davie Police Department is going to
work closely with us to determine if camera
surveillance is a good idea and more importantly
an effective idea.
At our next meeting on
October 23rd, an officer is going to
come to talk to us about Crime Watch and a rep
from a camera co. is going to come talk to us
about cameras and answer any questions. We just
signed into a private online network called
Nextdoor Waverly. On our Nextdoor site,
neighbors can share community events,
recommendations, items for sale, crime reports,
ideas about how to improve our neighborhood and
more. The link is:
https://waverlydavie.nextdoor.com/news_feed.The link is also on the
index of our website. This
e-newsletter is the first of many
to keep our neighborhood safe, happy and
healthy. We encourage all residents to come to
the meetings, visit our website at
www.waverlyhundred.org,
it has a multitude of information, facts, kept
up to date with news and when the meetings are.
Make sure we have your current email address,
and most of all look out for each other. We are
a fabulous neighborhood of only 293 families, we
never want to hear again that someone is
considering leaving our community because the
condition has weakened and is poorly
maintained!! That is NOT us! So let’s keep our
lawns mowed, our houses painted,
our roofs and sidewalks clean, our
boats and RV’s out of the front yard, and most
of all, our families SAFE! Please write to
info@waverlyhundred.org
with any comments, or questions or anything you
would like to share on the website.
